Backing coat plaster

A backing coat is the first undercoat of plaster applied to the wall. The type of backing coat depends on the background e.g. bricks/block/stone and the properties required of the plaster e.g. breathability. We can apply all types of plaster backing coats e.g. sand/cement, lime, Hardwall, Bonding coat.

Finishing coat plaster (skimming)

Skimming is the application of a skim coat (approx. 2-3mm) of finishing plaster, making surfaces e.g. backing coats and plasterboard ready for decoration. Old ceilings and walls can be re-skimmed saving hours of decoration preparation time.
